The first day

Last Friday K, my ex-boss, said to me that he is REALLY CURIOUS how my Monday would look like.

Yes, last Friday was my last day with the previous company, to everyone’s surprise. I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, and gave notice 3 months ago. Now this day is here.

My plan is very simple: I want to take a break from career and think about what I really want to do with my life. I’ll use 3 months to explore: read, talk, research.

So this is what my first jobless day look like. The highlight is that I found out about Esper and this awesome postmortem; the lowlight is I ended up in a call with Wageworks for over an hour :-(.

Oh yeah, I finally find time to exercise!

Let me pay for that

So I was in a Starbucks the other day. There were 5 customers dressed in military uniforms at the beginning of the line. Suddenly the guy in front of me walked up to them and chatted a bit, then turning around to the cashier saying “I’ll pay for all of their orders.” One by one they ordered something and came over to shake his hand and say thank-you. And they exchanged some small chats and laughters for a good few minutes.

It felt so warm.

I’ll do it the next time, I said to myself, and I’ll be a different person.

And I want to be a different person.
